Glavey Tree Experts is a Waterford based tree care company catering for private and commercial customers in counties: Waterford, South-Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford.

Glavey Tree Experts provides a professional and quality service in all aspects of tree care including tree pruning – crown shaping & reduction, dangerous tree felling and stump removal, mulching and chipping, tree survey and emergency call out.

We have a passion for trees, with the knowledge and technical skills so customers can rest assure that the most precious tree is safe in our hands and the most dangerous will be dealt with safely.

All our staff carry up to date relevant qualifications. We have full public liability, employers liability and professional indemnity cover. A safety statement and method statement are available on request.

Eoin Glavey

Eoin Glavey

Managing Director

Eoin studied horticulture in Limerick before training as a tree surgeon with a Waterford based company. He studied Forestry in SETU where he gained a BSc in forestry and was awarded the Augustine Henry Award of excellence by the minister for agriculture and forestry.

Eoin also received a scholarship from the Society of Irish Foresters to attend an international study tour to Poland. He continued to study Land Management at level 8 in SETU and was acknowledged in a recent SETU publication as one of the top 20 students in forestry over the past 20 years. He also studied field ecology at UCD where he gained valuable knowledge of how ecosystems function. In 2023 he was awarded the highest level of membership, Professional Grade, by the international trade body the Arboricultural Association. Eoin is one of the few that holds this membership level in Ireland. Since 2010 Eoin has engaged in ongoing professional development in relation to technical qualifications alongside his academic studies.

Eoin is passionate about trees and climbing and together with his wife Ciara and their five children, enjoy an outdoor life with all the natural amenities the Waterford coast and mountains have to offer. He is also a section leader with his local scout group, Copper Coast Scouts.

Patrick Glavey

Lead Arborist

Patrick Glavey is the lead climbing arborist with Glavey Tree Experts. Patrick is a certified arborist and has several technical qualifications certified by NPTC and City & Guilds. Patrick worked with the company on and off since 2010 but has joined the team on a full-time basis in 2020. Patrick returned to Glavey Tree Experts in 2020 and brings a diverse set of skills and a keen eye for detail. In his free time, he pursues his interest in pottery making beautiful hand thrown table wear.

Barry Talt

Barry Talt

Team lead, safety and compliance officer
Barry studied forestry in SETU and is in the process of becoming a Society of international Arboriculture certified arborist. Barry has worked with the company since 2018 but took a career break to study and work as an emergency medical technician.He now holds a diploma in emergency medical dispatch and has worked a variety of roles within the ambulance service including practitioner, national dispatcher and safety officer. He brings a vast array of knowledge and experience to the company and is responsible for ensuring the company works to and above industry standards. Away from work Barry volunteers for the Irish Red Cross, Waterford Marine Search and Rescue and regularly provides medical support at a variety of events around the country. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Rachel and son Liam travelling the country in their VW camper

Paddy is Eoin’s son and is the next generation of arborists, although still young he is clear about his future path in tree care industry. Paddy love fitness and appreciates any opportunity to be paid to work-out! Paddy is keen to start competing in the International Tree Climbing Championship so watch this space.

Ciara Meagher

Office Administrator
Ciara studied Art in SETU and spent many years as a dedicated volunteer counsellor with CUIDIU. Although she still has a passion for Art, she also has a keen interest in management and is a disciplined and skilled administrator. Ciara is a key member of Glavey Tree Experts, however, you will never find her up in a tree! She along with Eoin and their five children, enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle.
