Eoin studied horticulture in Limerick before training as a tree surgeon with a Waterford based company. He studied Forestry in SETU where he gained a BSc in forestry and was awarded the Augustine Henry Award of excellence by the minister for agriculture and forestry.
Eoin also received a scholarship from the Society of Irish Foresters to attend an international study tour to Poland. He continued to study Land Management at level 8 in SETU and was acknowledged in a recent SETU publication as one of the top 20 students in forestry over the past 20 years. He also studied field ecology at UCD where he gained valuable knowledge of how ecosystems function. In 2023 he was awarded the highest level of membership, Professional Grade, by the international trade body the Arboricultural Association. Eoin is one of the few that holds this membership level in Ireland. Since 2010 Eoin has engaged in ongoing professional development in relation to technical qualifications alongside his academic studies.
Eoin is passionate about trees and climbing and together with his wife Ciara and their five children, enjoy an outdoor life with all the natural amenities the Waterford coast and mountains have to offer. He is also a section leader with his local scout group, Copper Coast Scouts.

Patrick Glavey is the lead climbing arborist with Glavey Tree Experts. Patrick is a certified arborist and has several technical qualifications certified by NPTC and City & Guilds. Patrick worked with the company on and off since 2010 but has joined the team on a full-time basis in 2020. Patrick returned to Glavey Tree Experts in 2020 and brings a diverse set of skills and a keen eye for detail. In his free time, he pursues his interest in pottery making beautiful hand thrown table wear.
Paddy is Eoin’s son and is the next generation of arborists, although still young he is clear about his future path in tree care industry. Paddy love fitness and appreciates any opportunity to be paid to work-out! Paddy is keen to start competing in the International Tree Climbing Championship so watch this space.
